It takes a pointer to the file static _scm
The reset of the patch looks straight-forward to me but this change caught my eye.
Yeah, this change isn't useful. I aimed to avoid passing __scm to function calls but it does nothing in this patch, it'd be better to change it directly in the next patch that changes the signature.
